Villa Kiin Hotel formerly CASA MAYA HOTEL & Typical Bungalows
Inside a beautifull coconut garden are our Zazil-há bungalows , all slighty different with a mixture of mexican art and folklore; the multicolor shells, the comfortable wood furnitures, all like a real mayan bungalow in front of the sea. Shadows with hammocks and sun chairs invite you to take a restfull siesta or at night gaze at a sky full of stars and go to sleep hearing the sound of the sea. Meet travelers from around the world in our living room, we always have books and magazines for you.
We have two practical mexican kitchens with utensils and refrigerator
so you can do light cooking. You can buy wonderfull tropical fruits,
fresh bread and tortillas in the near by “mercadito” market. On purpose
we dont have a bar and a restaurant, however excelent food and
different bars are close by in downtown.
1.- Where is Isla Mujeres?
Isla is on the Eastern top of the Yucatan Peninsula. We are in the Western Caribbean, transparent blue water, powder white sands, awesome Maya Civilization. 2. - How to get here? Cancun Airport has direct flights, charters and connections to Canada, the U.S., Europe and Central and South America. Also, the Mexico City Airport and the Merida, Yucatan Airports can be used. Once in the Cancun Airport or Cancun Bus Station take a taxi to the small seaside village of PUERTO JUAREZ, from airport it can be a 45 minute ride, from Bus Station, it will take 15 minutes. Always ask for the cost of the taxi trip before boarding. Taxis are white with a green stripe, they are safe. There is 2 terminals of ships that go to the Isla, Ultramar y las Magañas. In the airport you may ask for a bus to Cancun City, you will save money. Also they are large taxis that will take many passengers. Buy the taxi or bus tickets INSIDE the Airport. Once in Puerto Juarez, there are people who will help you with your luggage, a five peso tip per luggage is common. There you should board a FAST BOAT. They are iron boats with air conditioning, comfortable seats and they are fast. The crossing will take from 20 to 30 minutes. Once on Isla Mujeres, you will find a taxi station. Taxis are red. Ask them to take you to CASA MAYA Hotel; it is a 10 minute ride. The hotel is at the right hand side of Zazil-Ha Street you will see our signs. Welcome! Once in the island, you can relax in our 100 yard beach, in our own Coconut Palm garden, in our upstairs terrace. Being a very small island, it has a picturesque fisherman’s village, many inexpensive and expensive restaurants. The Mexican food, good. French and Italian food and Spanish Mexican food in family restaurants or fondas. Isla is famous for good snorkeling, very good serious scuba, good deep sea fishing and day trips to unexplored beaches and islands. In Isla there is a turtle farm, the house of a slave trader, many sea side restaurants, wonderful views of open sea, south point and wonderfully colored day breaks and sunsets.
