01:00 - 02:30. Conference in Spanish “The impact of the illegal capture and commercialization of birds on their populations” Biol. Manuel Grsselet– Teatro Mérida. (to be confirmed).

03:00 - 04:00. Registration for Festival – lobby of Hotel Casa del Balam, Mérida.

03:30 - 05:00. Inaugural Cocktail and Presentation “Yucatan Wildlife Viewing Trail”; restricted to registered participants and special guests. Hotel Casa del Balam. Overnight in hotel of choice in Mérida

14:00 - 22:30. Field trip with lunch to bird watch at haciendas and/or at local eco-tourism project near Izamal, en route to Chichén Itzá.

23:00 - 00:00. Late registration for Festival - lobby Hotel Hacienda Chichén.

Saturday, December 03

00:00 - 02:00. Bird watch in area of Chichén Itzá.

00:30. Conference in English by Paul Wood on the birds of the region – CULTUR auditorium at main entrance to the archeological zone, Chichén Itzá.

02:30. Inauguration of the “Merle Greene Gallery” – Hotel Hacienda Chichén.

13:00. Start of bird marathon - xoc ch’ich’ ; box breakfast in hotels where lodged. Three Routes: 1. Chichén Itzá, Yaxuná, Izamal; overnight, dinner and breakfast in hotel at Chichén Itzá or Piste. 2. Xcambo – Telchac Puerto on the north coast; overnight, dinner and breakfast in Hotel Reef, Telchac. 3. Ría Lagartos Reserve, overnight, dinner and breakfast at Hotel San Felipe.

Sunday, December 04

18:00. The xoc ch’ich’ ends.

19:30. Hand in bird lists in lobby of Hotel Hacienda Chichén.

20:30. Noon Awards Lunch at Hotel Hacienda Chichén.

22:00. Awards Ceremony.

Monday, December 05
